John Russell has been involved in every aspect of the consumer electronics industry during the last 20 years. He has managed small and large retail stores; started, managed and sold a custom installation business; and worked on product development for several manufacturers.
As president of CDMI INC. John is changing the role of a traditional manufacturers representative from just taking orders and presenting programs to business development and systems design. Each dealer has diffrent needs and listening to what they are and being able to help is what John and CDMI INC are dedicated to providing both manufaturers and dealers.
John has done design, sales, installation, consumer training and dealer training all over the United States; as well as in Asia, Africa, and Europe. He has also trained both retail and custom installation companies on product sales, systems design and installation, and worked with architects and interior designers on current and future trends in the building industry. All of this experience is now available to all CDMI INC clients.
Specific areas of John’s expertise include multi-room audio video distribution, lighting design, lighting control, and home theater design and installation.
John has been profiled in Chicago Magazine, The Chicago Tribune, and The Chicago Sun-Times; and has written articles for CEPro and The DuPont Registry. John has also been featured on KTLA, WGN TV, The Fox Morning Show in Chicago, and Fox News national broadcasts.

Susan MacDonald – she was born and raised in Miami Florida and worked in the Audio Video Industry there for 5 years before getting married and moving to Illinois. Having worked with MAG Sales, C&E Marketing, and Shifting Sands Dist. before her move to Illinois, Susan has worked with MPA Marketing, Inc. and Bright Star Distribution for the past 18 years. Susan will be responsible for all aspects of customer service and general office duties for CDMI INC.
